Two new partners for the BonelliErede International arbitration practice

The Italian law firm announces the strengthening of its international arbitration practice with the arrival of two partners on 1st September 2017: Laurence Shore and Andrea Carlevaris.


Laurence Shore has been a partner in the New York City office of Herbert Smith Freehills, where he was head of the public international law practice. He has an extensive experience as counsel in commercial and treaty arbitrations before institutions such as ICSID, the ICC, the London Court of International Arbitration, the American Arbitration Association’s International Centre for Dispute Resolution, the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration, and the Swiss Chambers, plus in ad hoc proceedings under the UNCITRAL Rules. He has also been appointed as arbitrator by many of the same institutions.

Andrea Carlevaris returns to BonelliErede (having been a partner from 2009 to 2012) after serving as Secretary General of the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris (the world’s leading institution for international arbitrations) for five years, from 2012 to 2017. As Secretary General from September 2012 to May 2017, Andrea Carlevaris oversaw over 800 new arbitrations every year and coordinated a team of over 100 people across three continents. Andrea, who has also acted as arbitrator over the years, will be based between the Paris office of Bredin Prat (a fellow member of the Best Friends network) and BonelliErede’s Milan office. The arbitration department comprises over 20 professionals including 8 partners and 1of Counsel.
