This is the first time LATAM has placed bonds in the Chilean market
On August 22nd, Chilean airline LATAM announced the issue of bonds in its national market. The total of the deal is of approximately $360 million, with the papers split into four groups, depending on maturity dates and interest rates.
The air company issued two groups of $103 million, with maturity in 2022 and 5.25% interest, and two other groups with $76 million in bonds, due in 2028, with an interest rate of 5.75%.
LATAM relied on the legal services of the law firm Carey to advise them on the deal. J.P. Morgan worked as the financial advisor on the transaction. The deal was closed on August 17th.
