Cristina Carvalho: first female Managing Partner at Arent Fox

Arent Fox has named Cristina Carvalho as firmwide Managing Partner. She is the first Brazilian woman to hold this position at a major US firm, and will also be a member of the Executive Committee.

Arent Fox has named Cristina Carvalho as firmwide Managing Partner. She is the first Brazilian woman to hold this position at a major US firm, and will also be a member of the Executive Committee.


Based in the Washington, DC office, Cavalho's main responsibilities will include overseeing the international practice comprised of commercial transactions, intellectual property, licensing, and technology for leading US and foreign companies, as she is admitted to practice law in the United States and Brazil.

 

Throughout her career, Carvalho has advised clients on strategies for navigating different legal systems and cultures in order for them to realize opportunities in both mature and emerging markets. She is also widely recognized as a leading attorney in the food and beverage industries. Born in Brazil,the native Portuguese speaker is also fluent in Spanish, and holds membership in the International Trademark Association (INTA), the Brazilian Association for Intellectual Property (ABPI), and MARQUES, among other organizations.
