Brazilian Fashion Retailer Worth More Than Ralph Lauren

On date of the announcement, Lojas Renner was worth $5.75 billion , whilst Ralph Lauren $5.64 billion. In the first quarter of 2017, the stocks of Renner grew 29% in value in the Brazilian stock exchange, when compared to the same period in 2016, while Ralph Lauren registered a drop of 23% on the New York Stock Exchange.

 

These numbers were gathered by the company Economatica, as a request of Exame, to compare the size of the fashion companies in the United States and Brazil. As per the research, the American TJX is the most valuable fashion retailer in both nations, with over $47.4 billion dollars of stocks in the market. The presence of TJX in the United States consists of T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods and Sierra Trading Post.

While the Brazilian economy recovers, many departments are showing signs of good health, including industrial productioN and agriculture, but the success of some big fashion companies in the country shows that Brazil has opportunities for investors that are willing to bet in less orthodox markets.
